The rating stars are just graphics. They are not detailed enough for the viewers to see what is the high and low of a specific route. So, in the rating screen, I think the app should also provide some route descriptions for people to choose after their runnings, such as " easy to follow the route "; or "the route has many ups and downs". In this way, after seeing their choice percentage, other viewers can decide whether to take the route according to their own needs.
So the procedure and effects would go like this:
On the screen which users can choose the route, they can not only see the rating stars, but also the comments percentage. They could tap the "users' comments" button to see in more detail. The system would then provide them with the percentage of each description choice by calculating other users' choices. So that they can know clearly about the experience of running on a specific route, and make the best decision. For example, if I am the user who prefers the flat road to run but see 90% people choose "the route has many ups and downs", I may not consider running this route.
